Virgins and Addicts

Anton Echeverry, an exemplary father and a dedicated human rights advocate, undergoes a profound crisis following the death of his wife under strange circumstances. His world begins to crumble, and the only thing keeping him from plunging into the abyss is his son Martín, a brilliant Sociology student who was left disabled in an accident years ago.

One day, Anton accidentally overhears a conversation between the young man and his best friend—a fellow university student and the son of a politician, who walks with crutches due to polio—in which they describe themselves as “God’s sorrow.” Troubled by these words, Anton devises a bold plan to help his son. His strategy will affect Martín’s life—and the lives of those around him—in ways beyond anything he could have foreseen.

An unexpected event turns everything upside down, plunging the tormented father into unreality and delirium. In this story, nothing is what it seems.
