Antonio Moscoso spends his days working as a bureaucrat in a cultural office in Bogotá. His job is to burn the manuscripts from literary contests—discarded by juries who read them only half-heartedly. He ended up there after a stint in prison, for reasons the reader will only discover if they dare to enter a near-perfect novel that occupies a somewhat forgotten corner of Colombian literature—a place it certainly does not deserve.
One day, Antonio Moscoso stumbles upon a manuscript that recounts the story of his own life. Curious to know how it will end, this Bogotano flâneur embarks on a modest adventure, where two women, a suicide, and a murder will lead him back to the past that condemns him.
